Sheesh Mahal
In the heart of the Pink City, you should take an elephant ride to see the Sheesh Mahal. You will be treated like royalty and you can enjoy the Light and Sound Show for only 25 rupees. Sheesh Mahal, or Palace of Mirrors, is a must-see in Jaipur, India. Its mirrors are so intricate that a single ray of sunlight can illuminate all of the pillars.
Located in the courtyard of Amber Fort, Sheesh Mahal is a stunning sight. Each pillar is decorated with a unique flower carved at its base. And, best of all, the pillars are lit from within, allowing you to capture them in various poses. Sheesh Mahal is also an excellent destination for photographers as it boasts thousands of illuminated mirrors.
Hawa Mahal
The Hawa Mahal is a five-storey building, but there are no stairs. The top floors are accessible by taking ramps. There is no direct entrance to the Hawa Mahal, so you must enter around the back of the building, from a side street. Regardless of the entrance you choose, you will want to get a full view of this incredible monument.
When visiting the Hawa Mahal, be sure to go in early morning, when the sun is at its highest. The building is most beautiful in the morning, so make sure to take your camera! There are several magnificent fountains in the courtyard. During the evening, the Hawa Mahal hosts a musical show that is well worth seeing. You can visit the Hawa Mahal for free from 9.30 am to 4pm, though you will be required to pay a separate fee if you wish to film the show.
While visiting the Hawa Mahal, you must make sure to do so during the correct season. Generally, the best time to see it is October to March, when the weather is less hot and dry. The Hawa Mahal is open to the public every day from 9 AM to 4:30 PM. The earlier you arrive, the more sunlight you will get. However, if you have time to spare, it is advisable to visit the Hawa Mahal in the early morning hours, so that you can experience the beauty of the building at sunrise.
Central Park
The most famous park in Jaipur is the Central Park. A perfect place for nature lovers, this park is surrounded by monuments, including the City Palace and Jaipur Golf Club. A jogging track in the park passes through these places, and you can experience the changing visuals of golfers and polo matches as you exercise. There is no entry fee to Central Park and parking is free.
The park features the tallest flag post in India – 206 feet high and 72 feet long – and the first day-night monumental flag in the country. You can also see a musical fountain in the park, which is free to enter. Stone statues flank the National Flag are prime attractions in this park. Inside, you’ll find restroom facilities. And if you’d rather spend time outside, there’s a 5 km-long jogging track. You’ll find many migratory and native birds here.
Kanak Vrindavan Garden
The Kanak Vrindavan Garden is one of the most beautiful gardens in Rajasthan, built in a valley surrounded by the Aravali hills. It is located on the way to Amer Fort, approximately eight kilometers north of Jaipur city. You can’t miss this garden if you visit Jaipur! The garden offers panoramic views of nearby attractions. You can view the majestic trio of forts, the picturesque Jal Mahal, and the sylvan lakes and waterfalls. The Kanak Vrindavan Garden is a delightful place to visit in Jaipur. Set in a valley surrounded by the Nahargarh hills, the garden was created by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh 280 years ago. It was modeled after the original Vrindavan in Mathura and includes a beautiful idol of the Hindu god Krishna. Among the best things about this garden is that it’s free!
